Merrimack, N.H : Trooper injured after being struck in hit-and-run accident on Everett Turnpike on Sunday, May 22, 2016
New Hampshire State Police are investigating a hit-and-run after one of their troopers was hit by a car on Everett Turnpike.
Officials say around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, a trooper was conducting a traffic stop southbound on Everette Turnpike near exit 10 in Merrimack.
Investigators say a vehicle heading southbound struck the trooper and his cruiser.
The trooper was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. The troopers identity is not being released at this time.
The Everette Turnpike is down to one lane southbound. The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is on scene and handling the investigating.
Police are searching for a light colored 2002 to 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer with damage to the passenger side mirror and front passenger window.
