New Hanover County, NC : Driver will not be charged after hitting pedestrian on Market Street Saturday night, Nov 7, 2015

The driver who hit a pedestrian on Market Street Saturday night will not be charged, according to the Wilmington Police.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Market Street and Barclay Hills Drive.

According to police, a 62-year-old man walked out in front of a vehicle. Police say he was at fault for failing to yield and for crossing Market Street in an area not intended for a pedestrian to cross.

He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries where he remains for ongoing medical care.
