Six people were taken to the hospital after a head-on collision in York, SC.

The accident between two SUVs happened Saturday afternoon around 1:45 on Alexander Love Highway near the York Electric Co-op.

Two adults and four children were taken to Piedmont Medical Center, according to York police. Three of the children were transferred to Levine Children's Hospital, two reportedly had critical injuries and the other was there for observation.

Police say there was an adult and a child in one SUV and an adult and three children in the other.

Investigators have determined that speed was not a factor in the crash, but say they are still looking into the cause of the accident.
