Polkton Township, MI : Norton Shores man dies in crash with semi near Coopersville on Thursday, 11th July 2019

POLKTON TWP. — A Muskegon-area man was killed early Friday morning when his pickup truck crashed head-on into a semi-truck near Coopersville.Ottawa County Sheriff's Office deputies along with other emergency personnel responded to the crash in Polkton Township at 4:19 a.m.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the pickup truck was traveling south on 68th Avenue, north of Garfield Street, when it entered into the opposing lane of traffic and struck the northbound semi head on.

The driver of the pickup, a 40-year-old Norton Shores man, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash, said Sgt. Derek Gerencer of the Sheriff’s Office. The man was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
