West Liberty, OH : One person died and injured three others in a Double motorcycle crash near West Liberty on Saturday, March 25, 2017
A crash on Saturday just before 7 p.m. involving two motorcycles killed one person and injured three others. The crash occurred on a curve in front of 2687 west state Route 245.
Champaign County Coroner Dr. Joshua Richards declared one of the riders, 40-year-old Kelly Ann Morgan from Dayton, deceased at the scene. The other injured riders were transported to area hospitals.
All four occupants of the two motorcycles were ejected and both motorcycles were eastbound on Route 245 when they exited at a curve in the road and crashed.
One motorcycle, a 2002 black Harley Davidson Electraglide, exited the right side of the roadway on the curve and was located crashed in a nearby field. Dale Slusser, age 52 of Dayton, was driving the motorcycle and Morgan was the passenger. The other motorcycle, a 1998 Harley Davidson also exited the right side of the curve and was located in the field just east of the 2002 Harley. Riding the 1998 Harley were 40-year-old Jeffrey A. Higham and 42-year-old Clarissa Binkley, both of Troy.
Slusser was transported by EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine and later transferred to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Higham and Binkley were transported by EMS to Mary Rutan.
The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. West Liberty Fire and Macochee EMS responded to the scene.
