Woman on motorcycle killed in Henderson wreck in Henderson Nevada
A 19-year-old motorcyclist died when she collided with a vehicle in Henderson Tuesday.
Henderson police reported the collision at the intersection of Green Valley Parkway and Sunset Road about 6:50 p.m.
According to police, a woman riding on a Yamaha V-Star motorcycle was traveling southbound when she collided with a northbound PT Cruiser that was attempting a left turn.The woman was transported to Sunrise Hospital Trauma Center, where she later died from her injuries, police said.The Clark County Coroner's office identified the woman as Destiny-Emily Maria Jorgensen, according to an Associated Press report.
Police also said the woman was wearing a helmet at the time of the wreck.The driver of the PT Cruiser – 64-year-old Dwight Welton – was not injured, according to Henderson police. Welton also submitted to blood testing but did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.As of this incident, Henderson PD has investigated 12 fatal accidents resulting in 15 total deaths this year.
