A teen girl died after the vehicle she was driving crashed in Rowan County Sunday night.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, 17-year-old Ella Ferguson, a senior at West Rowan High School, was killed in a crash along Mooresville Road (Highway 150) on Sunday night.
It happened in the 3000 block of Mooresville Road at around 8:00 pm.
Witnesses told investigators that the car ran off the road and hit a tree. Ferguson was airlifted to a trauma center where she later died.
