Hillsborogh County, FL : Man, children killed in Maserati crash early Sunday, November 6, 2016
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that killed a man, his two children and injured his wife in Hillborough County early Sunday.
Troopers said they were called to the area of Interstate 75 and State Road 60 after a report of an accident came in around 2:25 a.m., Sunday.
Upon arrival, troopers found a 2005 Maserati that had fallen off the Interstate 75 overpass onto Woodberry Road.
Troopers said the Maserati, driven by 31-year-old Ronald Green, Bartow, was north on Interstate 75 when he lost control.
Green went into the median, hit a guardrail and barrier wall, then overturned over the barrier wall. Troopers said when the car went over the interstate, Green and his wife, 26-year-old Tiffany Young, were both ejected out of the car.
The car landed on Woodberry Road and caught fire. Troopers said Green's children, 9 year-old Sariyah Green and 5-year-old Ronald Green III were killed in the crash.
Young was taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries.
Troopers believe alcohol may have been a factor and continue their investigation.
