Gainesville,FL : Ocala man killed in crash on I-75 in Gainesville on September, Friday 1st 2017

An Ocala man died in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 southbound near the Williston Road exit in Gainesville late Friday night.

The Florida Highway Patrol did not immediately release the man’s name, because his family had not been notified.

Three other people, all residents of Atlanta, Georgia, were seriously injured, according to an FHP media release.

The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. near mile marker 382.


The three injured people — Tanzil Saikh, 28, Zarin Haikh, 24, and Kunal Kohli, 26, were traveling in a 2010 BMW 535, according to FHP. They were taken to UF Health Shands Hospital.

The third vehicle was a semi, a 2008 Volvo VNL. The driver, Herminio Sabatier, 49, of Hialeah, and passenger, Yosvel Sanchez Ferrer, 40, of Miami, were not injured, according to FHP.

The crash is under investigation and charges are pending.
