BREMEN, ME : Motorcyclist injured after colliding with truck in midcoast crash on Friday, 9th September 2016
A motorcyclist was taken to LincolnHealth-Miles Campus following a collision with a pickup truck on Turner Road in Bremen shortly before noon Friday.
Paul Barrows, 61, of Rockport, who was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle, suffered injuries to his legs and his head, according to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore.
Barrows was later brought to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Collamore said.
The cause of the collision has not yet been determined and is under investigation, Collamore said.Both vehicles were traveling southwest on Turner Road when the incident occurred, Collamore said.
The driver of the Black Dodge pickup truck, Branden Lucarelli, 38, of Waldoboro, reported that he signaled to turn left into a driveway on Turner Road, and the next thing he heard was the loud sound of the collision, Collamore said.
The motorcycle hit the driver side of the pickup and came to a rest under the truck, Collamore said.
The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, Collamore said. Lucarelli was not injured in the collision, he said.
The motorcycle was towed from the scene. The pickup was able to leave under its own power, Collamore said.
The Bremen Fire Department, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Central Lincoln County Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
