Miramar, FL : Flatbed truck catches fire after Turnpike extension crash on Monday morning, November 10, 2014
A tractor trailer and a car collided and caught fire on the northbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike Monday morning.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Miramar Fire Rescue arrived on the scene at the Turnpike and Northwest 27th Avenue, sometime after 10:30 a.m. Traffic was closed off in both east and west directions, near Sun Life Stadium, but some lanes have since been reopened.
According to officials, the flatbed truck and the car were engulfed by flames. The fire was put out just before 11 a.m.
One person was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in unknown condition. The driver of the truck was not injured.
