San Angelo, TX : Two people died after 2-car collision on FM 2288 early Tuesday morning, Oct 20, 2015

A fatal car crash claimed the lives of two area teenagers early Tuesday morning.

Noah Whitaker was traveling southbound on Farm to Market Road 2288 at 7:13 a.m. when his vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and struck Cesar Castillo's pickup head on, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Castillo was not wearing a seat belt.

Whitaker, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene, and Castillo, 19, was pronounced dead at Shannon Medical Center by Justice of the Peace J.P. McGuire. Castillo was a football player and student at Central High School in San Angelo.

Their next of kin have been notified.

The crash occurred approximately one mile north of San Angelo.
