A 17-year-old died after a Friday night wreck in Lexington.
Taylor Renee Kizer of Lexington was involved in an automobile accident at about 7:20 p.m. on Augusta Highway (U.S. 1) in Lexington, according to Coroner Margaret Fisher.
According to the S.C. Highway Patrol, Kizer was driving north on Augusta Highway when she ran off the road to her right, then overcorrected to get back on the road.
Kizer’s car struck another vehicle also traveling north, overturned and ejected her from her car, according to the Highway Patrol.
Kizer was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported to an area hospital, where she later died, Fisher’s office said in a news release Saturday. An autopsy will be performed, Fisher said.
The accident is being investigated by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol.
