ATKINSON, IL : Atkinson man dies in Tuesday accident on Tuesday, 25th October 2016

An Atkinson man was killed in a single-vehicle accident Tuesday on an S curve of the Galva-Atkinson blacktop south of Atkinson.

A pickup truck driven by Dennis “Denny” Hutchinson, 64, failed to follow the curve, according to Capt. Kerry Loncka of the Henry County Sheriff's Office. After hitting a guardrail, the pickup went down an embankment, through two fences and into a field before coming to rest, according to Capt. Loncka.

Capt. Loncka said the cause of the accident is unknown, but a medical condition may have been involved.

Services for Mr. Hutchinson are scheduled for Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Geneseo. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, Geneseo, is handling funeral arrangements.
