Floral City, FL : 2 die in head-on crash in Citrus County on Friday, December 26, 2014

Two Bushnell men were killed in a head-on collision Friday on County Road 48 about 10 miles north of Brooksville.

The accident, about 2:30 p.m. east of Steed Terrace, happened when a driver lost control of his pickup truck and veered into the path of an oncoming car, authorities said. Both men died at the scene.

Killed were Bradley D. Schroth, 31, the driver of the truck, and Eric D. Williams, 35, who was driving a Lexus sedan, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Neither were wearing seat belts.

Williams tried to brake and steer to the right, but the pickup's left front end hit the left front end of the car. The impact sent both vehicles into a spin, FHP said. The pickup truck ended up on the highway. The Lexus came to a rest on the grass shoulder.
