Golden, CO : Westbound I-70 reopens at West Colfax Avenue in Golden after deadly multi-car crash on Tuesday, June 7, 2016
Westbound Interstate 70 reopened at West Colfax Avenue in Golden more than five hours after a deadly multi-car crash.
One person died as a result of the crash, Golden Police confirmed. Another person was taken to the hospital. The condition of that person was not available.
The crash happened at about 4:15 p.m. AIRTRACKER7 flew over the scene at 5 p.m.
Two cars were covered with green tarps on the right shoulder.
A third car with with rear-end damage was on the left shoulder.
A semi truck with front-end damage was in the center median, a little farther up the highway.
Westbound traffic stuck behind the crash was routed across the center median and onto eastbound I-70.
One westbound lane reopened just before 8:30 p.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation tweeted.
All westbound lanes reopened at about 9:45 p.m.
