WHEATON, IL : Two men killed in Naperville quarry crash drowned on Saturday July 19th 2014
The DuPage County coroner says drowning is the preliminary cause of death for two men killed when a car plunged into a water-filled quarry.
The Naperville Sun reports that Deputy DuPage County Coronor Charlie Bastych announced the ruling on Monday afternoon. The men, 21-year-old Sajaad Syed of Naperville and 21-year-old Mihirtej Boddupalli of Lisle, died Saturday.
A Geneva man is charged aggravated driving under the influence and reckless homicide in the case. Police say his vehicle went into the quarry after missing a curve. Divers later discovered the victims' bodies still in the vehicle.
Bastych says the definitive cause of the death is pending toxicological results
