Tallahassee, FL : Fatal crash blocking SR 528, crashes slowing I-4 on Thursday, 1st September 2016
State troopers are at a fatal crash blocking several lanes of State Road 528 west at State Road 417.
The crash happened about 7:30 a.m. and was slowing traffic for several miles.
Troopers said two people were inside a vehicle when it flipped on S.R. 528. One person has died. It's unknown if the other person was injured.
Officials are expected to identify the occupants and release additional details later today.
There also is a crash blocking a lane on Interstate 4 east at Par Street. That crash happened just before 8 a.m. and involves a jackknifed semi-truck and several other vehicles, officials say.
Crews have cleared two other crashes that shut down I-4 east and west for more than an hour this morning near downtown OrlandoA jackknifed semi-truck and fuel spill near Par Street had all westbound lanes blocked.
A separate semi-truck crash near State Road 50, or Colonial Drive, had all eastbound lanes blocked. That crash happened about 6 a.m. and had traffic backed up for several miles.
Both cleared by about 7:30 a.m.
Orlando police and fire crews were called to both scenes.
Traffic officials are warning drivers to use caution this morning on wet roads. At 8 a.m., Florida Highway Patrol was investigating about a dozen crashes involving injuries or roadblocks in Central Florida.
