A Michigan man was hospitalized in serious condition following a car vs. dump truck crash on Tuesday in Walton County.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, Antonio Mahaffey, 25, of Eaton Rapids, Mich., was traveling north on U.S. Highway 331 near Coy Burgess Road in a 2017 GMC Envoy at 12:20 p.m. when the SUV suddenly veered left across the centerline into the path of a 2017 Western Star dumpster driven by 49-year-old Troy Dibble of DeFuniak Springs.
Following the near head-on collision, the Envoy shot across the southbound lane of travel, leaving the roadway and traveling in a westerly direction until slamming into a fence.
