Springfield, IL : Couple killed in Springfield car crash identified at 42nd and E streets on Sunday, 26th May 2019

Police identified Tuesday the two people killed in a weekend crash in Springfield.

Isaac Woodcock, 20, and Mekenna Wallace, 23, were killed just after midnight Sunday, when the vehicle Woodcock was driving struck a utility pole at 42nd and E streets.

Passenger Alexis Johnson, 18, of Eugene, was injured but survived. Her condition is unknown.

Woodcock and Wallace were engaged and planned to marry in July.

Springfield police are still investigating the crash and evidence from the scene is being processed, according to Springfield police Sgt. Mike Massey.
