One person was killed and another injured in a three-car wreck on U.S. Highway 2 near Priest River
One person was killed and another injured in a three-car wreck that occurred on U.S. Highway 2 near Priest River shortly after 5 p.m. Friday evening.
Idaho State Police reported that Amy Brady, 39, of Newport, Wash., was killed when her 2008 Chrysler 300 was struck head-on by a 2005 GMC pickup driven by Christopher Jewsbury, 50, of Spokane.
Jewsbury was traveling west on U.S. 2 near milepost 3.8 when he went left of center, sideswiping an eastbound 1990 Chevy Trailblazer driven by David Oakes, 61, of Olympia, Wash. Jewsbury then collided with Brady's vehicle, which was also eastbound.
Oakes and Brady were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident. Jewsbury was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. Oakes sustained no injuries.
Bonner County Sheriff's Department and Priest River Police Department assisted.
