MERIDEN, CT : Pedestrian seriously injured in hit-and-run accident in Meriden on Friday, 7th October 2016

Police say a woman was seriously injured after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing Springdale Avenue Friday night. The vehicle fled before police arrived.

The crash occurred about 8:30 p.m. on Springdale Avenue between Lewis Avenue and North Spring Street. Police said the woman was taken to MidState Medical Center before being airlifted via Life Star helicopter to another hospital.

A description of the evading vehicle was not immediately available.
