A Milton Township police officer was injured after a car struck him while he was standing outside his cruiser during a traffic stop at 8:15 p.m. on Newton Falls Road north of Mahoning Avenue. A dispatcher with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the officer is in stable condition in St. Elizabeth Health Center. Police were looking for the vehicle that struck him, because it fled the scene.
