ELKINS, WV : Two people killed in crash on Monday, 26th March 2018
A single-vehicle accident claimed two lives late Monday afternoon, and a third person was injured when a Chevrolet crashed along the Beverly Five-lane.
The accident occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. near Precision Pre-Owned Auto, according to Randolph County Sheriff Mark T. Brady, who confirmed the deaths of two people.
The third individual was transported for medical treatment by Randolph County EMS, and the extent of that person’s injuries were unknown at presstime.
All three individuals were adults and no identities were being released as of presstime.
Scanner traffic at the time of the crash indicated the accident was a single-vehicle rollover with ejection. The vehicle came to rest on its side, several feet up an embankment from the edge of the Five-lane in the parking lot of Precision Pre-Owned Auto.
Three dogs also were involved in the crash, and one dog was pronounced dead, according to Brady.
The Elkins Police Department is leading the investigation. Assisting on scene were the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia State Police, Elkins Fire Department and Randolph County Humane Officer.
