Astoria, OR : A head-on collision led to four critical injuries on U.S. Highway 26 on Monday, 18th June 2018

A head-on collision led to four critical injuries Monday on U.S. Highway 26 east of Elsie.

A dark blue Subaru Legacy was traveling eastbound shortly before 4 p.m. when it crossed the center line, according to Oregon State Police. It then collided with a white Ford F-150, which was hauling a trailer.

The truck and trailer came to rest in a jackknifed position in the eastbound lane, while the Subaru stopped on the westbound shoulder. Both cars caught fire, with the truck becoming fully engulfed.
