Dartmouth, MA : Pedestrian hurt in a crash on State Road (Route 6) near the Moby Dick Motel on Friday, November 25, 2016

A 59-year-old male pedestrian was hurt Friday night when he was hit by car driven by a New Bedford man, police said in a news release posted on their Facebook page.

Police said the accident occurred about 5 p.m. Friday on State Road (Route 6) near the Moby Dick Motel. They said the pedestrian, who was not identified, had been hit by a 1998 Lexus driven by Kalen Santos, 36, of New Bedford.

The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital, police said in the release.

Members of the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit are assisting with the investigation.

No further information regarding the extent of the man injuries was available at 9:45 p.m. Friday.
