Macoupin County, IL : Lloyd McCloghan, 50, died in fatal motorcycle crash on Shipman Road southwest of Carlinville on Saturday, June 27, 2015

An Illinois man was killed Saturday evening in a motorcycle crash in Macoupin County, police said.

Lloyd McCloghan, 50, of Glenarm, Ill., was pronounced dead at a hospital after crashing his 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Shipman Road southwest of Carlinville, Ill., police said.

Police said McCloghan was thrown from the motorcycle after losing control of it. Police said they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash and that McCloghan was not wearing a helmet.
