Newark, DE : Pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash at I-95 on-ramp in Newark on Tuesday January 5 2016.

Delaware State Police say a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash near an Interstate 95 on-ramp.
The crash occurred Tuesday morning on northbound state Route 1 in Newark at the on-ramp for northbound I-95.
Police say the pedestrian who was hit was pronounced dead at the scene, but the vehicle involved did not stay on the scene.
Police say northbound Route 1 has been closed to traffic and commuters are asked to avoid the area. The state police crash reconstruction unit is investigating the crash.
