SPRINGFIELD, MA : Driver injured in East Forest Park accident on Thursday, October 6th, 2016

A driver was injured Thursday evening in an Allen Street collision between a Toyota sedan and a Chevrolet pickup truck, according to a city fire spokesman.
Dennis Leger, Aide to Fire Commissioner Joseph Conant, said firefighters needed the Jaws of Life hydraulic equipment to pull away the door to the Toyota in order to remove the woman from the vehicle.
She was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment. The injuries are not considered life-threatening. Her name was not released to the press.
The accident happened at about 7 p.m. in the vicinity of 760 Allen St., near where Allen merges with Sumner Avenue.
The driver of the pickup was not injured.
