WICHITA, KS : 2-year-old boy dies in drowning accident in the 2200 block of South Linden on Sunday, 14th July 2019

The Wichita Police Department has confirmed a 2-year-old boy died this afternoon, after an accidental drowning in a swimming pool.

Officials say they responded to a drowning call at 11:30 today in the 2200 block of South Linden. Upon arrival, officers located the boy who had been pulled from a swimming pool and was unresponsive. The boy died from his injuries on the scene.

The WPD' investigation found the boy and his parents were temporarily staying at the home of the residents. The boy crawled through a dog-door and fell into the pool. The boy was found by his father who pulled him out of the pool and began lifesaving techniques.

The incident is still under investigation.
