PICKENS, SC : One person died following a collisio on Friday, June 16, 2017

Troopers confirm one person died following a collision on Highway 8 near Bethlehem Ridge Rd. in Pickens County Friday night.

According to troopers, the victim was traveling west on Highway 8 before crossing the center line and side swiping another vehicle. Troopers say the victim then ran off the left side of the road, overturned and struck a tree.

Per troopers, the victim was wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.

The coroner later identified the victim as 32-year-old Trent Anthony Cobb of Pickens. The victim was pronounced dead from blunt force trauma.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
