Redding, CA : Minor injuries suffered in crash on Old Oregon Trail at Harley Leighton Road on Friday morning, October 21, 2016

Emergency crews today pulled one person from a crash near the intersection of Old Alturas Road and Old Oregon Trail just northeast of Redding.

Dispatchers reported the crash at 10:17 a.m. on Old Oregon Trail at Harley Leighton Road, just south of the intersection with Old Alturas.

A white pickup collided with a blue Honda Prelude, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver of the Honda was turning onto Old Oregon south from Old Alturas when the car stopped to allow a vehicle coming south to pass. The pickup was heading north on Old Oregon and tried to stop but hit the side of the Prelude, CHP officers said.

Medics took the driver of the Prelude to Mercy Medical Center for evaluation of minor injuries, officers said. The driver of pickup also suffered minor injuries, but didn't go to a hospital.
