Tomales woman dies in head-on crash on Bodega Highway

A Tomales woman was killed Friday afternoon when she apparently crossed the center line on rain-slicked Bodega Highway and crashed head-on into a pickup.

Lynne Forester, 70, was driving a 1992 red Volkswagen GTI eastbound on Bodega Highway at 4:18 p.m. when she crossed the double-yellow line on a curved section of road and collided with a Chevy Silverado, the CHP said. The accident occurred near Furlong Road.

The pickup’s driver, Catherine Beck, 62, of Bodega Bay, was not injured, the CHP said.

Forester was transported by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

According to the CHP, the roadway was slick from recent rains. Alcohol was not considered a factor in the crash.
