Penn Township, PA : Penn Township teenager was driving drunk when he led police on a chase, barely missing other drivers before the car flipped on Saturday July 26th 2014

A Penn Township teenager was driving drunk when he led police on a chase, barely missing other drivers before the car flipped over, authorities said.

Police said in a criminal complaint that Cole McKendrick Henderson, 18, was driving a car without its headlights turned on at 9:05 p.m. Saturday in Trafford. Borough
Patrolman William Bell attempted to stop the car, but Henderson allegedly kept swerving into oncoming traffic, according to the complaint.

The chase ended when the car rolled over, a telephone pole fell onto its roof and then it crashed into a guardrail on Route 130.

Henderson was arrested at gunpoint, police said. He is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, criminal mischief, driving under the influence, reckless driving, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, and accidental damage to an unattended vehicle or property.

He is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison on $20,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday.

In a previous case, Henderson is accused of conspiring with a 30-year-old man to sell drugs at Penn-Trafford High School on May 8. He had been set to enter a guilty plea in that case Wednesday, but court action was rescheduled after the new charges were filed.
