An 8-year-old boy died Friday after a two-vehicle crash in Lincoln.
Lincoln police said a driver in a Volkswagen Golf was westbound on Garland Street about 6:35 a.m. and stopped at a stop sign at North Cotner Boulevard. The Volkswagen then pulled into the intersection and was struck by a northbound Ford F-150 pickup truck.
The driver of the Volkswagen, 36-year-old Jesse King, was ejected and the boy, Camden King, was trapped in the car, police said.
Both father and son sustained life-threatening injuries and were taken by rescue squad to the hospital, where the boy died.
The driver of the pickup did not sustain serious injuries, police said.
Camden was a third-grader at Randolph Elementary School, police said. Lincoln Public Schools notified the families of his classmates and had a crisis team available to the students and staff.
