Denver, CO : Woman hit, killed by bus near downtown Denver on Tuesday, Sep 29, 2015

A woman killed when she was hit by a vehicle in Denver on Tuesday has been identified.

Denise Jan Barauskas, 59,was taken to Denver Health Medical Center after the crash at 20th Street and Chestnut Place, according to a news release from the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

Barauskas was pronounced dead at the hospital, the release said.

An autopsy determined Barauskas' cause of death was blunt force injuries.

As of Thursday morning, Denver police spokeswoman Christine Downs said the crash was still an open investigation and that many details were still not available.

No one has been cited, she said.

Downs described the vehicle that hit Barauskas as "a school-type bus, but not an RTD bus or a Denver Public School bus."

Police said the crash was not a hit-and-run.
