Lawrenceville, GA : One person killed, one life-flighted in single vehicle wreck at Sugarloaf Parkway and Woodhaven Drive on Sunday afternoon, April 10, 2016

A single vehicle wreck Sunday afternoon outside of Lawrenceville claimed the life of the driver, Gwinnett County police said.

The incident happened at 1:08 p.m. at Sugarloaf Parkway and Woodhaven Drive when the vehicle hit a telephone pole. Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Deon Washington said. The driver died at the scene, and a passenger, both 21 years old, was life flighted from the area. Speed and drugs are possible factors in the crash.

On Monday afternoon, police did not have an update of the condition of the passenger.

Washington said he expected to release more information as the investigation progressed.
