Cookeville, TN : 34-year-old man killed in Baxter motorcycle wreck on Wednesday, August 31, 2016

A 34-year-old Cookeville man was killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident Wednesday.

Roger Palk died in the wreck that happened in front of Baxter High School on Hwy. 70N just before noon.

Palk was westbound on a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle.

The wreck was investigated by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

According to the agency’s report, Palk lost control of the bike and ran off the right shoulder of the road.

He struck a brick mailbox.

Although Palk was wearing a helmet, he died from his injuries.

No charges are pending.
