FERNDALE, WA : Bellingham man in critical condition after Slater Road crash with garbage truck on Wednesday, 27th June 2018

A Bellingham man remained in critical condition Wednesday morning after his pickup truck crashed into a garbage truck on Slater Road the day before.

The Washington State Patrol is still investigating the cause of Tuesday's accident, which shut down Slater Road west of Interstate 5 for several hours.

Kenneth W. Pridachuk, a 70-year-old from Bellingham, was driving a gold 2001 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on LaBounty Drive near Recycling & Disposal Services, Inc. on Tuesday afternoon, according to state patrol.
