Loveland, CO : Motorcyclist killed in crash at 71st Street and North Garfield Avenue (U.S. Highway 287) on Wednesday, 11th March, 2020

A motorcyclist has died after a two-vehicle crash in north Loveland on Wednesday.

Loveland police said the crash happened just before 6 p.m. at 71st Street and North Garfield Avenue (U.S. Highway 287). When officers arrived, the 35-year-old male motorcycle driver was deceased.

According to the initial investigation, the motorcycle was traveling north on North Garfield Avenue and a vehicle driven by a 24 year-old woman was headed southbound and stopped at the traffic light attempting to turn left onto 71st Street.

As the motorcycle neared the intersection, the driver of the vehicle turned left in front of the oncoming motorcycle, resulting in the broadside collision.

Investigators do not know if alcohol or drugs contributed the crash.
