Dover-Foxcroft,ME : Motorcyclist sent to Boston after Spaulding Turnpike crash on October, Thursday 19th 2017
A Dover man with life-threatening injuries was transported by a medical helicopter to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after he was injured in a motorcycle crash on the Spaulding Turnpike on Thursday afternoon.
State police say 59-year-old Donald Pelletier, of Dover, was traveling southbound when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail. Pelletier was thrown from his motorcycle. State police say they believe Pelletier was traveling southbound with two other vehicles at the time of the crash. One was a black Cadillac operated by a male driver and the other was a silver Mercedes operated by a female with blonde hair, state police said. They said they’d like to speak to the drivers of both vehicles.
According to Dover Fire Capt. Michael McShane, the department was dispatched for the accident at 1:19 p.m. to the Spaulding Turnpike southbound between the Exit 9 off and on ramps. The motorcycle operator was transported to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital by ambulance. From there, he was taken by a Lifeflight of Maine helicopter to Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Massachusetts, said WDH spokesperson Dawn Fernald.
