Muscatine, IA : Muscatine police officer, squad involved in crash on Saturday, January, 20th 2018

A Muscatine police officer was transported to Trinity Muscatine after an early-morning accident Saturday involving a Muscatine Police Department squad and a tractor/trailer.

The accident happened about 5 a.m. on the 2700 block of University Drive, according to a news release from the Muscatine Police Department.

The officer, who had what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to Trinity Muscatine by the Muscatine Fire Department ambulance . The driver of the semi did not report any injuries at the scene of the crash.

Iowa State Patrol is investigating the collision.
