ROWAN COUNTY, NC : One killed in crash involving tractor-trailer at the Rowan and Cabarrus County line on Monday, 16th July 2018

One person was killed in a crash at the Rowan and Cabarrus County line Monday morning.
The crash happened on Old Concord Road at Irish Potato Road, closing the area for a time. Officials say the deadly crash involved a car, truck, and a tractor-trailer. A Ford Fusion involved in the crash was an unmarked Huntersville Police Department vehicle, troopers say.
The driver of the pickup truck, later identified as Brian Fredrick Manring, 18, of Concord, died in the crash, according to troopers. Manring tried to make a left turn onto Old Concord Road when he was struck by the tractor-trailer driven by Walter Fink who was not injured in the crash.
Huntersville officer Ryan Smith was heading to work and was not hurt in the crash.
