Two small children and a woman are dead after authorities say they were struck by a speeding vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road in Southern California.
Sgt. Adam Gloe tells The Orange County Register (http://bit.ly/2b9CMBf ) the fatal pedestrian crash happened Saturday evening at about 10:30 p.m. in Placentia.
Two officers who happened to be nearby heard the collision and discovered the three pedestrians hit by the vehicle lying unresponsive on the street.
All three were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names and ages have not been released.
Gloe says 27-year-old Nicholas Stephen Munoz has been arrested on suspicion of murder and driving under the influence of alcohol, causing injury.
Munoz was next to his car when officers arrived at the scene.
