CROCKETT, CA : Highway 4 crash leaves one dead on Sunday, 2nd October 2016

A person died Sunday in a crash on Highway 4, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Police were notified at 12:50 p.m. that a Honda Civic was in a ditch alongside the eastbound direction of the highway just east of the Franklin Canyon Road exit, CHP Officer Ron Simmons said. Initial reports indicated the driver, a male, was trapped in the car.

The person’s age and identity were not released immediately. Authorities called a coroner to the scene. The CHP issued a SIG Alert for severe traffic at 2:04 p.m. and lifted it at 3:15 p.m.
