State police say a 42-year-old central New York man has died in an accident at a campground in the Adirondacks.

Troopers say Donald W. Morczek Sr. of Lee Center in Oneida County was driving a pickup truck late Wednesday morning at the St. Regis Falls Campgrounds in the Franklin County town of Waverly, on the northern border of the Adirondack Park.

Police say he came to a dead end and was backing up when his truck left the road and hit a tree. He then drove forward onto the road and got out of his truck.

Troopers say the pickup started to roll forward and Morczek tried to get back inside. The truck continued rolling, hit a group of trees and pinned Morczek between the vehicle's door and door jamb. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
