One person has been seriously injured in a crash involving six vehicles on Interstate 95 in East Haven.

Connecticut state police say the crash happened at about 11:15 a.m. Saturday.

Police say one person suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, which involved at least one tractor trailer.

They say at least two people were extricated from their vehicles.

Police say three of four lanes of the highway remain closed and motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible.
