Uintah County, UT : 1-year-old Turquoise Christensen died after pickup Truck crash on Sunday ,August 16th 2015

Sheriff's deputies have released the name of a toddler who died Sunday after a relative backed over her in a pickup truck.

Turquoise Christensen would have celebrated her second birthday in December, according to Uintah County Sheriff's Lt. John Laursen. He characterized the circumstances surrounding the girl's death as "a tragic accident."

Deputies were called to Country Village Trailer Park, 8100 E. U.S. 40, just before 10 a.m. Sunday. Based on their preliminary investigation, they believe a family member of Turquoise's went outside to turn a truck around and didn’t see that the toddler had walked behind the truck.

The relation between the driver and the 20-month-old girl is not being released, Laursen said. Deputies say the family is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
