Highland ,CA : Mother and Daughter Critically injured and hospitalized after two vehicle crash on Monday night , May 25th 2015
A teen is in critical condition and her mother is in serious condition after a two vehicle crash Monday night near Highland.
Authorities with Lone Peak Police Department said that at about 8 p.m., the two were traveling in a small sedan that drove into the path of a Jeep near 11800 North and Highland Boulevard.
The Jeep, headed northbound, t-boned the sedan on the driver side.
The driver of the Jeep suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries. But the driver of the sedan, Maylee Anderson, 16, was suffering from heart failure by the time EMTs arrived to the scene.
Emergency crews got her heart beating again before she was airlifted to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
Wade Olsen, Anderson's uncle, said she lost one eye in the crash and is unconscious after suffering massive head trauma.
The passenger of the sedan, the driver's mother, Christine Anderson, also was airlifted to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, in serious condition. According to Olsen, she's expected to make a full recovery.
