Pocatello, ID : Oregon man avoids serious injury after wreck in south Idaho Saturday morning, February 4, 2017
An Oregon man was treated and released from the hospital after being involved in a two-vehicle wreck Saturday morning near Twin Falls.
At 10:20 a.m., Idaho State Police responded to the wreck on Highway 93 in front of the Flying J Travel Plaza. John Gott, 33, of Twin Falls, was driving in the left lane northbound in a Ford F-250. Mickey McConnell, 50, of Umatilla, Oregon, was driving a Ford Expedition waiting to exit the Flying J parking lot. McConnell’s vision was obstructed by a semi turning into the parking lot. McConnell attempted to turn southbound onto Highway 93 and failed to yield to and collided with Gott’s F-250.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and airbags deployed in the Expedition. McConnell was taken via ground ambulance to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center, where he was treated and released. The left northbound lane was blocked for approximately one hour while emergency crews cleared the scene. The crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
